Teething (not so) blues

So Mr Sam is getting a new bottom tooth in. That will make 7. He is handling it better than he use to but still doing the "mommy hold me" bit.
I finally got him to say Mommy. We were driving home the other day and he was fussing so I just started saying "Mom, mommy, mama" and he said it right along with me. We almost made a song out of it. We found out that he loves to dance. The other day Matt put on Monster Mash (of all things) and Sam just went nuts wiggling his little butt around. So cute. I am going to have dad get it on video.
I have a new entries to make on the "Things I never thought I would say" list: "Don't lick the TV", "Don't throw that down my pants" and "Stop licking my belly button". The belly button thing isn't as weird as it sounds. He learned about belly buttons from his My Baby Can Read videos and so he will stare at mine and then for whatever reason feel the urge to put his mouth on it and try to make raspberries, not that I do that to him.... :)
Sam has started sharing. He wants to share his bottle, his sippy cup and his already eaten food, with everyone. It's really sweet and he laughs about it but I wonder if he is just making fun of us.
We went and watched (2 minutes) of the fireworks on Saturday. We waited about 2 hours and when the booms got too loud for him, he was ready to go. He liked watching them as we walked away though. lol
He is still torturing the dogs. The other day he crawled up to the blanket that the dogs cower under, pulled the blanket back and said "Hi" with a disturbingly ominous tone. I thought mom was going to pee herself, she laughed so hard.
Well that is all I have for now. Still house hunting and will hopefully get one sooner rather than later. I'm in no rush though. I prefer to get something I want and not something that is convenient and quick.

Amazing

Mr. Sam has now said a total of 8 words. Mama, Dada, ByeBye, Daddy, Baba, Poppa, Jacob and Cup, plus he is trying his hardest to say Diaper and Dog. That kid constantly amazes me.

Sam spent Saturday night with his Daddy for the first time. It was much harder on me than it seemed to be for him. Ezell said he did fine and went to sleep fairly easily. But when I got him back on Sunday he kept leaning back to look at my face and then diving into my shoulder for a hug. So so cute. Thought I was going to cry. Ezell said that their dog is now afraid of Sam. Apparently he cornered the dog with his walker and the dog freaks out when Sam goes for him now.

I applied for a home loan today. I should find out today or tomorrow if all my ducks are in a row for the approval. I can't wait to get Sam in his own room! I think he is going to like having the extra space to cruise in his walker (or like Ezell says "his Ferrari" lol).

Father's day was good. I bought Dad a ticket to go see George Jones and he went with Uncle Lloyd. They had a blast. Then on Sunday we didn't do much of anything. Dad and I played Lego Batman which is the only video game I can get my self to play (well any Lego versions).

I am hoping to get some more pics done of Sam and I soon. I will send them out as soon as I can.

Love love love ya. :)

My heart might break

SO... Ezell told me for Father's day he wants Sam to spend the night. That will be his first full night away from me. I gotta tell ya, I'm not handling it too well. I'm pretty sure I will cry shortly after I drop him off. I worry that Sam will wake up and need me or be upset that I am not there. I know Sam needs his Daddy time but I'm not sure I will be able to sleep. Luckily I get to take my cousin Joyce out for her birthday on Saturday so maybe that will keep me occupied. I guess that is something all parents go thru.

Nothing really going on this week. Sam is still working on saying dog and has the two separate syllables of diaper down. He refuses to say them together though. So I will either get a "di" or "per". He knows who everyone is though. You can ask where Papa or Grandma are and he will look around the room until he sees them. Pretty cute stuff.

We have just started saying "no" to Sam. The Dr made sure to tell me that we should be firm when we say it and not back down. So we have been saying no and then if he tries again, we tap the top of his hand. It's pretty hard not to laugh when he looks at you like you have lost your mind for first saying no and then daring to touch him like that.

Uncle Matt was nice enough to show Sam how to use a straw today. Unluckily enough (for Mommy), it was Sprite. So I had to wait for his sugar high to go away before I could him to bed. But Sam picked up pretty quickly on how to use the straw. I wonder if we can just skip the sippy cup stage.

God willing, Sam and I will be looking for a house beginning July 1st. Just waiting to make sure my credit has updated like I was told it would. I'm pretty excited about it.

Well it's late and I am exhausted. Good night everyone!

Sam Update

So, I figured I would start a blog so that everyone can keep up with Sam and I.
Let's see... Sam had his 9 month appointment this week. He is 22lbs, 30 inches long, top 94% for his height, top 75% for his weight and top 90% for his big 'ol head. The Dr finally gave me something useful for his eczema. Apparently there is a difference between an outbreak and a flare up (an outbreak is the scaly skin and a flare up is the open wound looking bit). Now, 3 times a day we have to mix a steroid and a topical cream together and put it on his spots. The Dr said it would only take about a week for him to heal. If not, back to the Dr.
Sam said "grog" this week when the dog came up to him. He has also been trying to say diaper. He can say mom mom, mama, dada and baba but he doesn't know what they mean. He defiantly doesn't associate mama or mom mom with me yet.
I'm so blessed to have such a happy baby. He sat straight up the other morning and just started clapping. He was laughing and just really excited. lol. Sometimes he will laugh in his sleep. I don't know what's funny, but he just giggles until he falls back to sleep. Crazy kid.
I have tried to start planning his 1st birthday party but the amount of people I would have to invite is insane. 78 people! I guess I don't have to invite them all but those are all the people I feel obligated to invite. Ugh. I can't do it. I guess we are just going to make a cake at home and not have a party.
Anyhow, back to work for me. I'll try to remember to update this often cause I know I don't email most of you as often as I should.
